Letter To a Friend – How Your Blog Can Make Big Money

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

So I thought I would post this little email I sent to a friend who is getting ready to launch his DJ/Music website and he had never heard of Wordpress. He has a very limited amount of technical knowledge, and I want to help him use the Internet to his full potential. He took the initiative by getting his domain name started with a little starter site, which he paid for, and now I want to help him create wonderful Wordpress blog that he can easily manage. He is going to do Podcasts, and live DJ shows within a Global community. It’s a new idea for me, and I’m excited to get him going. You can see Wayne’s early web beginnings at Wayneszart.ca.

Wayne is one of the most talented and passionate people I have ever met, and his life’s journey is amazing. He was born in Jamaica, and moved to Canada with his Mom. He has a true entrepreneur’s mind and understands the importance of multiple streams of income, and the importance of making your money doing something you love. I’m hoping this DJ/Music blog will set him free forever.

So here is the letter I sent him this morning. If you are considering blogging as a way to make a full time living, I hope you find this email and this post a source of motivation.

Hi Wayne,
I’m very excited about helping you out with your cool project. Music! – right up our alley, and it’s a new script for me to master. Here is an example of what your site could look like, but of course we’ll make it the way you want. Click here to see the Terry Zulit blog

Now your site will be very different of course, but you will run on the Wordpress platform like me. Bloggers like myself make money from our blogs, and I can show you to do what you love and make it a financial stream as well. Betty and I have over 50 blogs like this now, and they can be about anything. I learned how to do this at this Australia fella’s (Darren) blog: http://www.problogger.net/

Darren only has two blogs and make over $12,000 a month talking and podcasting about what he loves. You can make a good living JUST doing what you love. This is real and not a scam Wayne. We’ve been free for over 4 years now working from home. See this check to see what I mean. This is one month for us: http://www.zulit.com/july-adsense-income.jpg

Here is what Jeremy makes (another Aussie I think ;-) ) per month:

Get me the username and login to your hosting account, and I’ll get you going my friend.

P.S. – I just realized something while writing this, these Australians are a brilliant bunch.

Top 1 Tip For Creating a Successful Blog

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

First of all, I understand that successful blogging means different things to different people. Some think a successful blog is one that has allot of traffic and readers. Some think that a successful blog is one that makes allot of money. Either way, a successful blog is one that has allot of traffic and allot of readers.

I’ve read many different accounts on what makes for successful blogging. I was always very interested in what made a blog succeed, and most importantly what made them lucrative. I’ve been at this for over 5 years now, and I have finally succeeded in bringing a blog up to a high traffic level, and making it very lucrative. (not this mish-mash cluster fuck blog – this is the first blog I created, and only makes $150 a month). What I learned from all of my failures, and final success, was a two stage process. I know that this post is entitled Top 1 Tip For Creating a Successful Blog, and I have already mentioned two stages. There is only one thing to do when creating a successful blog nowadays. I will point out the two stages of long term blogging success first, and then explain the one and only tip for creating it. (more…)

My Top 10 “Things I would do differently if I had to start my blog again”

Saturday, July 22nd, 2006

Zulit Top TenWhen you first launch a blog, your domain is stranded in the desert of cyberspace. It takes some time to get things going. You will have days when you’re all charged up, and others when you might feel like throwing in the towel. You may hear about blog owners that make great sums of money from their daily blogging, and at the same time read about bloggers that make only enough money to buy a cup of coffee once a day. Below is list that outlines the top 10 things I’d do differently if I had to start my blog again.

Money Blogging Tip #1 – Avoid focusing only on the money

This is going to sound ridiculous to some, but try to avoid focusing on the money. If your only goal is to make money, your frustration at times will be intense, and this may lead to your blogging demise. What you need to do is concentrate on writing articles of content that reflect your feelings, experience, beliefs, and understanding of a familiar subject. It turns out that you can make money blogging, and that’s super, but you won’t make a great deal of money overnight. It can take months or years (depending on the subject matter) before you start to make money enough to write home about. The only way you can ever make blogging lucrative, is by consistently pumping out relevant material. To do that you’ll likely need to love blogging. (unless you hire someone to blog for you — but for this article I’m going to assume you are simply an individual who is wading into cyberspace on your own)

Money Blogging Tip #2 – Blog about your first passion

Your blog can be about fishing, sports, cars, boats, hobbies, or just a subject you are passionate about. Zulit.com is mostly about the pursuit of financial freedom because that is something I’m passionate about. That may not be your cup of tea, and it may not be a subject you know much about. On your first blog you need to focus on a topic that you are intimate with — topic or subject that you have life experience with. This is sort of cliche in the blogosphere, but it can never be overstated. Later, after your first blog is well advanced, you can certainly branch off into niche blogging, or product blogging.

Money Blogging Tip #3 – Avoid being intimidated by power bloggers – be inspired!

One of the first things you’ll notice when you begin blogging, is that there are some extremely powerful blogs that have what I call “Internet Seniority”. These are blogs managed, owned, and operated, by experienced bloggers that started blogging years ago. They have grown a substantial archive of content, earned the respect of a substantial following (subscribers), earned an impressive Google page rank, and have a massive amount of traffic per day, month, and year. Don’t be intimidated. These experienced bloggers started just like you are now. They wrote their first post at one time as well. They had no traffic, no subscribers, no content, and in many cases no direction. They found their direction in time, just like you will. (more…)

The Power of Intention

Thursday, June 15th, 2006

One of the first things you will need on your new journey towards financial freedom is motivation. So today I would like to touch on a motivational speaker. One of my favorite motivational speakers is Dr. Wayne Dyer. If you are not already familiar with Dr. Dyer’s work, I strongly recommend reading one of his books, listening to one of his CDs, watching one of his DVDs, or perhaps seeing him live on stage. I use his CD medium to listen as I’m driving, and my favorite one is The Power Of Intention.

Wayne’s power of intention piece is extremely powerful and the reason I love his CD version is because his voice really moves me as I listen. Perfect for commuters while they wait out traffic on the way to work or on their way home from work. The basis for the Power Of Intention is that we can actually use our own personal power to gravitate towards our goals by simply intending to take action in that quest. (more…)
