What it Takes to Make it as a Full Time Blogger
Well another busy day at the keyboard working two of my niche blogs. I’ve completed two fresh posts this AM and it’s ten o’clock right now. Each post is over 1000 words and each one includes a picture and of course a “strategic title” for the post.
I’m no longer using speech recognition because I can type much faster accurately than ever before. One thing for sure, if you want to “make it” a full time job working from home on your blog(s) you ARE going to have to learn to type really fast and without effort. The without effort part being the keyword here. You have to be able to type out about 1000 words of quality content with details, bullets points, numbers, information, ramblings, and pictures for each post. This flow has to just spill out of you and you can get there for sure. I was a hapless writer 4 years ago when I started, but now I can really move along.
This post is about 3 minutes in and I’m at 174 word right now. This is what I really think it takes to make it blogging for a full time living. Your writing speed has to come effortlessly. I used to write a 1000 word post and feel exhausted by the time I was done, and honestly there were times when I didn’t think I was cut out for this line of work. However, the dream of working at home and being by own boss really moved me along to fight for it. Now the writing just flows.
So I’m averaging about 5000 words of original content a day on the niche blogs and they all make money using the Google Adsense program. We’re getting by, but there is going to have to be a whole lot more content written if we ever want to “more than get by” – and don’t we all want that right.
