Ever wondered if Google will survive this horrible economy? Ever wondered if Google will survive this recession or depression? These are my thoughts on this question;
I can see Google’s revenue taking a hit maybe because there MAY BE advertisers that drop out of business all together, but many advertisers will begin diverting advertising budgets from conventional advertising mediums and opt for the higher ROI from PPC advertising.
There is no way around it that Google will have an income decline due to this economy, but I believe they will hold up better than most any other industry in the private sector. For instance banking; even with the huge problem in the financial products business banks are using Google and Yahoo to advertise for loans just as much as they were last year this time.
Still very aggressive and there is more traffic for loans from borrowers who can’t find loans from their bricks-and-mortar banks in their own home town. While some of Google’s advertisers/clients will pull back others will pump up the advertising.
The absolute nature of diversity their business model has makes for a robust structure in hard times. This economy downturn or recession or depression will be the ultimate test for the tech and IT sector and I think our industry will pass with flying colors.
People all over the world are going to be searching online for deals, bargains, and opportunities as times get harder. I can see that in hard times millions of people around the world will begin trying to find ways to make money online too. Man are they going to have to sort through the garbage of so-called “easy-million-dollar” or “six-figure online earning blueprints”.
It was bad enough when I started, but now every webmaster and their chimp are offers “get rich quick online schemes” and “six-figure-income ebooks” – yeah, and that includes me. At least my pitch has always been get “comfortable slowly” and not “get rich quick”. I mean with allot of hard work and perseverance a person can make a good living online but it will take 2-3 years to get there if they only rely on organic traffic.
