Adventures In Internet Marketing
This article was written by Roderick Eash, who is relatively new at the Internet marketing game. There’s a good chance he has been hanging around the Warrior Forum, judging by his Internet marketing methods. Notice how his methods are completely different than what we have discussed on Zulit. He uses ezines, avoids PPC to some degree, and the link he provides goes to a PIP (Plugin Profit) site.
This is what I love about Internet marketing - there are so many different ways to earn money it’s boggles my mind. IN the end though…it all comes down to lots of fresh content. Our online businesses live and die by fresh content. Roderick submitted this article for the same reason we write in our blogs - we need to have fresh, quality content, constantly streaming into cyberspace.
Below Is Roderick’s Article
Ive been an Internet marketer for awhile now, and I’ve learned a few things that I’d like to share with anyone that could use some advice. I don’t claim to be an Internet guru. These statements are strictly from my own personal experience, and this is a work in progress.
Â
The first word of advise I have for the new Online Home Business person is, don’t expect to start making a lot of money right away. It takes time to build up your Online Home Business just like a brick an mortar business. Expect to take at least a year before you start to see a four digit monthly income. Although for the educated, or with the right program, or product it can happen overnight. Just don’t be too disappointed if it doesn’t.
The second piece of advice for someone wanting to start an Online Home Business. Nothing in this world is free. You’re going to get what you pay for. The only thing I ever got from an FFA was an email box full of junk.
Everybody talks about search engine ranking , and there’s nothing wrong with having a high search engine ranking, but for me, I’m more concerned about getting high volume, targeted traffic, than how high I’m ranked on Google, or Yahoo. The best form of advertising that I’ve found is the Solo Ezine ad. For a small fee you get your ad sent exclusively to an audience eager to receive the information you have for them.Â
I would advise against pay per click, or Adwords until your sure you know what your doing. You can blow your advertising allowance real quick here if you don’t know what your doing. Of course if you do know what your doing, these two forms of advertising are great, but get some training first.
The Internet is always changing, and as of this writing the best way to get a top ranking in the search engines is to get as many like minded links pointing to your site as possible. Just do a search for like minded sites, go to the sites, and look for a link that says something like “Link to us”, or “Add a Link”,”Add a Site”, etc. Most sites will require reciprocal linking, but not all. There are software programs to make this easier to do, and websites set up just so webmasters looking for link partners can find each other.Â
Start a Blog. This is one of the greatest things to come along since sliced bread. Every time you add content to your blog, you can add another link pointing to your site.Â
Another excellent way to get a bunch of links pointing to your site is to write an article, get it published on the web with a link to your site in your “about the author” section, or in your signature. If you don’t think you’re capable of writing a good article there are ghost writers that will write it for you, for a fee. There are plenty of sites out there for this too, but there are also software programs that will take care of 90% of the work.
Â
Don’t jump at every advertising offer you get once you get going. You’ll just end up chasing your tail, and throwing your money away. Do though, get yourself an ad tracking program. You’ve got to know which ads are working, and which are not. One more thing, budget your advertising so you can spend the majority of it in the fall, and winter months, when things really get hopping.
Another piece of advice I have is about spamming. Spamming is not only unethical, it’s illegal, and ineffective. Don’t do it. Getting your own opt-in list, and a good auto responder like GetResponse or Aweber is were it’s at. At Get Response you can get a free auto responder, but it will have their ads on top of your messages, which will cost you a few sales. Upgrading to the Pro account is less than $20.00/month. When you’re just starting out it’s better to sell information, or small ticket items rather than harder to sell big ticket items. Resell rights to e-books is very hot right now.
Not long ago, I didn’t know ANYTHING about Internet marketing…However, within just 2 weeks, I launched my own website and learned how to profit from an opt-in list, pull in sales with ezines, make money with Google Adwords, and setup my own blog.

Just ignore the info from Yahoo. If they win you’ll see some money from the suit.
You actually have to contact them and do some work to be removed from the class action lawsuit.
