This is my first blog project. This blog was originally tagged "Your Financial Freedom", but it's really just a diary these days.

Making Money On Ebay - Another View

I recently posted a long winded article on Tim Knoxes eBay Ebook. Unfortunately, when I read it back, it sounded like nothing more than pitch article. Just to set the record straight, the only reason I wrote about Tim’s ebook is because he uses the techniques I use. Wholesale drop-shippers etc.

Still, with that said, I want to even the scales a little bit and recommend an article for reading further on eBay. Click here to read this post entitled Making Money On eBay. There are some good points made regarding eBay; power-seller stats, and it’s worth reading. Keep in mind this writer’s take on eBay flys directly in the face of my post and my experience. I’ve always made a profit when using eBay, whether using drop-shippers or selling specialty items from my own basement. The trick is to choose your products carefully. Consider your competition and their inventory sources. Use your head.

One of the things that you will find when you read in this article - is the apparent lack of hope the writer has for netrepreneurs using eBay. I could carve that back a little, because he does mention selling specialty items.

One of the things that I love about eBay is the promise it has for international sellers. If you buy a product in a country with a lower dollar in comparison to the United States you can win. Generally, products sell for what the market can bear. For example: the exact same widget (same part number) sold in Canada will sell for a lower cost than in the US. If you go a step further and buy second hand, you can really ramp up your profits. I sold specialty studio microphones second hand up in Canada, and then resold them on eBay to Americans. It paid beautifully. The profit margins were huge.

Again, the trick is to use your head. In the studio recording world, products of quality hold their value, if not appreciate. If you sell performance car parts (as Tim points out in his ebook) you can make great profits.

I know it goes against blog tradition, but I like to include links to well written articles that even the scales. When it comes down to any business, whether online or offline, the competition is always going to be stiff. The netrepreneurs that win are the hopeful and the positive. I’m one of those.
