Paid Online Surveys - Worth Your Time and Money?
Update: This week is the anniversary date of this post on Paid Online Surveys. I’ve removed three of the companies that were listed below, and there is one survey company that is by far the favorite.
When looking at which survey company was joined the most over the past year, Survey Hawk was the one chosen 90% of the time.
Paid online surveys have become extremely popular due to the ease in which people can sign up and start earning money. When most people initially dream of financial freedom earning online income, they begin hunting for the fastest and most lucrative way to earn money. The problem the novice has is choosing an online business model they will succeed with. They soon find out that there is a myriad of possibilities, and thousands of clever Internet marketers promising to make them rich quick. The paid online survey companies are experts when it comes to convincing neophytes to join their program (for a fee). The good news is that there are some paid online survey companies that do deliver on their sales pitch.
You Should Always Be Paid For Your Information
Nothing exasperates me more than some survey company calling me the moment I sit down to a juicy steak dinner. It never fails actually; these graceless survey companies call me and ask for my time in completing a telephone survey with them. My standard answer is,
“Sure, pay me $75 and I’ll be happy to spend 7 or 8 minutes with you, giving you some information about my personal spending habits”.
It’s absurd really. I don’t say this in a rude way - I enjoy learning about all business models, so I usually continue to ask them what they do with the finished survey, and how much money they’re making with it. Information equals money - always has and always will - but with the advent of the Internet, information is an extremely hot commodity for us all. Your information (whether you choose to give real information or not) is valuable, and you should be paid for your information. Never complete a survey unless you are being paid handsomely for it.
How Can You Make Money Simply Completing Surveys?
All of the pay-per-survey companies promise to pay you bountifully for your time in completing surveys. Some surveys are over the phone, and others are completed online. These survey brokers usually provide you with a directory of companies that offer to pay you for completing online forms. Some brokers provide you with software programs that enable you to fill out online forms rapidly. Sounds easy right……well maybe. If you take the action required to follow through with the survey process, you can indeed make some respectable money. The trick is finding a creditable pay-per-survey company.
Why Would You Sign Up With A Pay-Per-Survey Company?
If you are have never received a check in the mail for your online endeavors, you may consider starting with a pay-per-survey business. There are ways to make enviable profits from the survey business model. Millions of people make extra money completing surveys, and I personally know individuals (and some husband and wife teams) that make serious dollars doing the same. If you have prior experience with running an online business, you might not be interested due to that fact that you can already build a quality web site, optimize it for the search engines, pull in traffic, and convert visitors into paying customers. That is a tall order for the absolute beginner. By utilizing the tools and directories of the pay-per-survey companies, a beginner with very limited technical knowledge or computer experience, can create profit for themselves.
Reviewing The Top 10 Pay-Per-Survey Brokers
I’ve point previewed what I consider to be the top 10 paid survey companies. All of them have web sites that outline their services and their affiliated companies. Keep in mind that many of the money making methods they offer you are not related to just completing surveys. Some of these offers are not available depending on your location, your lifestyle, your desires, and your skill set. I’ve included the non-survey options as well, just for the sake of those who are naturally curious. Many of the extra “paid per” deals I would never take part in, but I’m constantly surprised by how many people have used them to their advantage.

I’ve thought about this way of making some money but I still really object to giving lots of companies information about my lifestyle, and then being pelted with their solicitations by every possible communications channel.

Yes. All of the folks I know, don’t use their own info and have special emails etc. It’s sort of weird that you can fill out a Survey and pretend to be someone else.
Name - Shelia
Hobbies - guns
Dislikes - people
Likes - alcohol
It could get pretty weird.

The paid online survey companies provide a service for 2 groups.
1) Marketing company
2) The people filling out the survey
The survey company (such as Survey Gain or Survey Scout) make their money from the sign-ups. They have to be paid too. NON of the survey companies I reviewed are scams. I would not list them if they were.
I’ll tell you what a scam is — a scam is when someone calls you at home and asks you to take a free survey. They get your info, and use it for their financial gain. (not yours)
I have good friends that do these surveys and they do quite well with it.
However, if you are serious about making your own income with next to nothing invested, use my Wordpress Videos to setup your own blog.

Thanks for the links and information regarding Online Paid Surveys.
I am a student living in Canada, so I just wonder if you know which sites above will have more paid surveys for people not living in US. Are the surveys mostly paid in cash? I am trying to earn some money during spare time to pay off my student loan.

Cecilia,
I would try Survey Scout first, as they have a solid system and pay on time.
Payments by check or direct deposit.
