ROI from the KOA
If you had told me ten years earlier that I would be running my business from a KOA campground, I would have told you to anaylize what’s in your morning coffee. It’s a beautiful day in this Montana KOA, as I type into my laptop, sitting on the porch of a tiny 3 man Kabin. I can hear the sound of birds chirping, children playing, and the faint rushing noise of highway 93 high above. My wife is having a shower as I start my daily blogging, and I have to say that at this very second life could not be better.
As of 11:00 AM this morning my income breakdown is as follows:
- Adsense clicks = $175.87
- Affiliate links = $75.00
- Donation links = $24.00

Total in at 11:00 AM = $274.87
This tells me that traffic levels are higher than normal for a Friday. My guess is that I will break $600.00 in total income today. My total cost on the gross will be around $160.00 - when I add up all the hosting, domain fees, and PPC (pay-per-click) for all my sites and blogs. As Larry David would say, “Pretty, pretty, pretty good”. When you add it all up at the end of the month, I’ll gross over $20,000, with a total cost of $5,000.00 for PPC, hosting, and domains. A total net income of $15,000. I’m not a rich oil baron by any means, but for a guy with a grade 12 highschool education (barely), and basic computer skills, I would it call it amazing.
